You might be a web designer and your native language is English and you are just designing a wordpress site for a Brazilian guy whose native language is Portuguese and he needs to add, edit and modify the wordpress site in his native language (Portuguese) for easy understanding of wordpress, what will you do? You must add his native language in wordpress dashboard and this is what we are going to discuss in this post. We will see how to set multiple languages in wordpress dashboard.
You can set multiple languages in wordpress dashboard manually by configuring and making some changes to your wp-config.php file but for beginners it will not be the right choice and to simplify the work we are going to use WP native dashboard plugin and this plugin does a better job by enabling quick language switcher in dashboard, in login screen and in user profile settings so without any language barriers users can easily manage wordpress dashboard.
Once you installed and activated this plugin you will see native dashboard plugin settings under settings tab (Dashboard >> settings >> Native dashboard) open it and check the capabilities of the plugin you wish.
Now in installed languages you will just see English(en_US) and to add more languages click on “check repository” in downloads, now you will get a list of languages. Download the required language for your wordpress dashboard.
Now users can pick the language they want from their wordpress profile settings, you can quick switch between multiple languages in backend-admin bar and front-end admin bar and also you will have the option to switch between languages in you login screen.
Download WP Native Dashboard plugin to set multiple languages in wordpress dashboard.
